Why STEM education?

Despite the global recession, the US continues to face a workforce shortage in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.  We must do a better job tapping the talent of our young people--especially those who are underrepresented in STEM fields: (women and other minorities).  Our global competitiveness depends on our ability to attract attract and retain future generation is such areas as chemestry, engineering, the physical sciences, mathematics and technology.

Quality STEM education strives to not only teach the content students will need to be successful, but fosters a lifelong love of learning through real-world applications.  STEM education creates critical thinkers, teaches a solid knowledge base, and enables the next generation of innovators. This innovation leads to new products and processes that sustain our economy and have a positive impact on humanity.
