Adopted Textbook: Essential Health Skills for Middle School, Published by: G-W (The green book)
Phone Policy: Per school policy, I expect phones, headphones, and other electronic devices to be in your backpack or on the back counter while in the classroom. If you are caught with your phone/device, you will be asked to put it away. The second time you will be asked to put your phone on the counter, the third time your phone/device will be confiscated by the teacher and taken to the office until the end of the school day.
Attendance / Tardies: You are expected to be in your seat when the bell rings. Tardiness will not be tolerated and will follow guidelines as stated in the Student Handbook.
Behavior: I expect professional behavior, no swearing, rude or crude comments are allowed. Treat everyone with respect. If caught cheating on an assessment, you will receive an “F” on that assessment and will not be allowed to retake.
Grading: I will use PowerSchool for assignments and Grades
You are graded on a traditional scale A=90-100%, B=80-89%, C= 70-79%, D= 60-69%, F=less than 60%.

Quizzes = 20% of the grade
Presentations/ Projects = 20% of the grade

Late Work: Accepted only upon approval or excused absence. Late work must be submitted within one week of the original due date.

Material Supplies: Please bring 2 pencils with you to class. You will be provided a single subject notebook for notes and journaling. It is recommended that you have a separate folder or a designated tab in a 3-ring- binder to hold worksheets. You will receive points for completing this notebook and you will be able to use this notebook on your semester final.
